Jurnee hailee James | Co-FOunder
Jurnee James is the Co-Founder and Lead Brand Strategist of Proud Ancestors Creative Agency, a firm dedicated to building the next generation of sustainably sourced businesses for a regenerative economy.
In addition to her work in creative strategy, Jurnee is a student at West Los Angeles Community College majoring in Environmental Social Justice with a minor in Business Law. She is a graduate of The Chisholm Legacy Project and an inaugural 2024 Environmental Social Justice and Climate Change Fellow. Jurnee also completed the Green Arrow Earth and Liberation Fellowship, deepening her expertise at the intersection of community development, self determination and ancestral regenerative practices.
Today, Jurnee draws on her experience, education, and ancestral wisdom to redefine what conscious commerce looks like in the modern age—championing business practices that honor communities , the planet, and our benevolent ancestors

The Inagural ChocolateCON
ChocolateCON, born from the creators of Porchfest DC, stands as a tribute to the rich Black culture that has profoundly impacted and shaped Chocolate City, also known as Washington D.C. Held during DC Emancipation Week, the event illuminates the vibrancy of Black life and the groundbreaking innovations that have left an indelible mark on both Chocolate City and the global community.
At the heart of the main event is a celebration of the myriad contributions of melanated individuals across various industries. Notably, ChocolateCON has been officially recognized by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser as an integral part of the DC Emancipation Week festivities.
